Method
- Mix the lean minced beef with a pinch of salt and some black pepper and shape it into a burger about 2 cm thick, pressing the centre lightly with your thumb so it stays flat as it cooks.
- Slice the mozzarella and pat it dry with kitchen paper; wash the tomato, cut one thick slice and cut the rest into wedges.
- Heat a griddle over medium-high heat until hot and cook the burger for 4 minutes per side, turning once, until well browned and cooked through. In the last minute top it with the mozzarella and cover with a lid until it melts.
- Meanwhile split the burger bun and toast it cut side down on the griddle for 1 minute, until golden.
- Fill the bun with the burger, the tomato slice and basil. Serve with the rest of the tomato and the mixed salad dressed with the oil, dried oregano and a pinch of salt.
