Ingredients

For 1 serving

  • Rolled oats40 g
  • Reduced-fat milk200 ml
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder5 g
  • Pear120 g
  • Hazelnuts10 g

Contains: gluten, lactose, nuts,

In season: September – February

Method

  1. In a small pan mix the cocoa with a couple of spoonfuls of the cold milk into a smooth paste, then add the rest of the milk and the oats: this way the cocoa won't go lumpy.
  2. Wash the pear, core it and cut half into roughly 1 cm dice and half into thin slices.
  3. Bring the porridge to a gentle simmer over medium heat, then turn down to low and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring often, until creamy; add the diced pear for the last 2 minutes so it just softens.
  4. Meanwhile roughly chop the hazelnuts with a knife.
  5. Pour the porridge into a bowl and finish with the pear slices and hazelnuts.
