  • Hamburger bun70 g
  • Lean ground beef130 g
  • Iceberg lettuce30 g
  • Tomatoes1
  • Red onion20 g
  • Mustard1 teaspoon
  • Ketchup1 teaspoon
  • Saltto taste
  • Black pepperto taste

Contains: gluten, mustard,

Method

  1. Wash the iceberg lettuce and tomatoes; slice the tomatoes and red onion into thin rounds and separate the lettuce leaves.
  2. Work the lean minced beef briefly with your hands and shape it into a patty about 1.5 cm thick, slightly wider than the bun because it shrinks as it cooks; press a dimple into the centre with your thumb so it doesn't puff up.
  3. Heat a griddle or cast-iron pan well over high heat, season the patty with salt and black pepper and cook it for 3–4 minutes per side without pressing it, until a dark crust forms and the juices on top run clear.
  4. Meanwhile cut the burger bun in half and toast the cut sides on the griddle for 1 minute, until golden; spread with the mustard and ketchup.
  5. Build the burger with the lettuce, patty, tomato and onion and close it.
